These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of https://karerihikers.com and any booking made with Kareri Hikers (“we”, “us”, “our”). By enquiring, adding items to cart, paying online, or participating in a trek, you agree to these Terms.
1. About us
Kareri Hikers provides guided trekking, camping and adventure tour services based in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Contact: info@karerihikers.com, +91 82192 57443, Maitti, near Apna Ghar, Gharoh, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh 176216.
2. Bookings and payment
- A booking is confirmed only after we acknowledge it and receive any required advance payment or full payment as communicated to you.
- Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹) unless stated otherwise. Taxes and permit fees, if applicable, are included or listed on the tour page.
- Online payments are processed through Razorpay or other authorised payment partners. You agree to their terms when completing payment.
- We may refuse or cancel a booking if payment fails, dates are unavailable, minimum group size is not met, or we reasonably believe the booking is fraudulent.
3. Trek details and changes
- Itineraries, durations, meeting points and inclusions are described on each tour page. Minor adjustments may be made for weather, trail conditions, safety or local regulations.
- If we must cancel a departure due to weather, landslides, government restrictions or insufficient bookings, we will offer an alternative date or a refund of amounts paid to us for that booking, minus non-recoverable third-party costs already incurred.
- We reserve the right to substitute guides or equipment of equivalent standard when necessary.
4. Cancellation and refunds by you
Unless a specific tour states otherwise, the following applies to cancellations initiated by you:
- More than 15 days before departure — full refund of amounts paid to us, minus payment gateway charges and non-refundable permits already purchased.
- 8–15 days before departure — 50% refund of the tour price paid to us.
- Less than 7 days before departure — no refund, except at our sole discretion or where required by law.
- No-show — no refund.
Refund requests must be made in writing via email or WhatsApp. Refunds are processed within 7–14 business days to the original payment method where possible.
5. Eligibility and fitness
- You must meet any minimum age stated on the tour page. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Trekking involves physical exertion, altitude, uneven terrain and exposure to weather. You are responsible for assessing your fitness and disclosing relevant medical conditions, allergies or limitations before the trek.
- We may exclude a participant from all or part of a trek if, in our guide’s judgement, continuing would endanger that person or the group.
6. Assumption of risk
Outdoor adventure activities carry inherent risks including injury, illness, altitude sickness, wildlife encounters, rockfall, river crossings and unpredictable weather. By joining a trek you voluntarily assume these risks and agree that Kareri Hikers cannot eliminate them entirely.
7. Liability
- We take reasonable care in planning routes, selecting guides and providing equipment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a booking shall not exceed the amount you paid us for that specific booking.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages, loss of enjoyment, or delays caused by force majeure events (including but not limited to storms, landslides, road closures, strikes, pandemics or government orders).
- We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings, or for services provided by third parties (hotels, taxis, airlines) unless expressly included and booked by us.
8. Your responsibilities
- Follow guide instructions, stay with the group unless told otherwise, and respect local communities, wildlife and “leave no trace” practices.
- Carry valid government ID and any permits required for the trek.
- Do not use alcohol or illegal substances in a manner that impairs safety on the trail.
- Provide accurate contact and emergency information at checkout.
9. Insurance
We recommend that you hold adequate travel and health insurance covering trekking, medical evacuation and trip cancellation. Insurance is not included unless explicitly stated on the tour page.
10. Intellectual property
Website content, logos, photographs and text are owned by Kareri Hikers or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce or use them for commercial purposes without written consent.
11. Website use
- You must not misuse the site, attempt unauthorised access, scrape data, or submit false information.
- We may suspend access or remove content that violates these Terms.
12. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Kangra, Himachal Pradesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your place of residence.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. Bookings made after an update are subject to the revised Terms.
